Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) made a mark at the prestigious Infinity Ventures Summit 2025 (IVS2025), Japan's foremost startup exhibition and conference, held in Kyoto from 2-4 July 2025. Institute for Innovation, Translation and Policy Research (ITPR) of HKBU showcased various high-impact technology projects and their applications at the exhibition, and participated in the stage forum to promote cross-regional innovation and dialogue.
Mr Raymond Chan, Assistant Director (Entrepreneurship) of Institute for Innovation, Translation and Policy Research of HKBU was invited as a keynote speaker to share at the forum titled “How East Asia's innovation ecosystems can play together”. This gathering brought together startups and experts to explore strategic pathways and opportunities for industry-academia-research dialogue across East Asia. Forum opened up discussions on cross-regional cooperation, and the synergy and potentials between Hong Kong, Japan and South Korea.
Aligned with the theme "Reshaping Japan with Global Wisdom", HKBU introduced an array of innovative projects spanning artificial intelligence, health tech, and sustainable development and their applications. The HKBU team welcomed numerous visitors from the academia, industry experts, investors, and government officials, notably Mr Suzuki Kazuya, Vice Governor of Kyoto Prefecture. This showcase not only underscored HKBU's research excellence and technological innovation but also highlighted its accomplishments in knowledge transfer and promoting dialogue between industry, academia and research institutions. By participating in IVS2025, HKBU has established a solid groundwork for fostering technological innovation and synergy across East Asia.
