HKBU and Kyoto University Hospital establish bridges for medical technology transfer

Professor Terence Lau, Interim Chief Innovation Officer of HKBU, led a group of HKBU, including Mr Raymond Chan, Assistant Director (Entrepreneurship) of the Institute for Innovation, Translation and Policy Research of HKBU, on a visit to Kyoto University Hospital in May. They engaged in in-depth discussions with Professor Akifumi Takaori-Kondo, M.D., Ph.D., the hospital's director. The meeting centered on identifying potential collaboration opportunities in medical health technology transfer, establishing a robust groundwork for academic and medical exchanges.

Professor Lau introduced HKBU's research excellence and innovative studies in the medical health field, underscoring the significance of interdisciplinary collaboration in advancing technology transfer.

In the meeting, the representatives explored the feasibility of launching joint projects in the future, aiming to bolster research capabilities and deliver higher-quality medical services to the community while addressing global health challenges.
