A delegation from the Institute for Innovation and Translation (IIT) of Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) recently visited Cherrypicks for an in-depth exchange meeting focused on enterprise development across different markets and innovation-driven business strategies.
On behalf of HKBU, Mr Raymond Chan, Assistant Director (Entrepreneurship) of IIT, attended the meeting with Cherrypicks’ senior management, including CEO Mr Kenny Chien and Vice President Mr Stanley Wong; Mr Allen Wong, Chairman of the Hong Kong Software Industry Association (HKSiA); and Ms He Ying, CEO and Founder of MICAS Technology Limited.
Headquartered in Hong Kong, Cherrypicks transforms mobile experiences through AI-driven excellence, combining local agility with global scale, while IIT specialises in technology translation and innovation advancement. With these complementary strengths, both parties share highly aligned visions and directions to integrate academic research with commercial applications.
The meeting primarily explored strategic directions for enterprises expanding into different markets, with a key focus on leveraging research and innovation to drive future business development in the health sector. Mr Raymond Chan highlighted HKBU’s strengths in deep-tech translation and interdisciplinary research from an academic perspective. He also introduced how IIT can facilitate the application of university research projects to explore future development directions. Participants gained valuable insights into the technological development priorities of the industry and specialised technology enterprises.
All parties recognised the importance of closely integrating academic research with industrial applications and exchanged views on strengthening future dialogue. They expressed hope that deeper connections among industry, academia, and research sectorswill jointly promote high-quality innovation in the content and technology industries, while addressing the challenges of industrial transformation.
This exchange underscores IIT’s commiment to building robust platforms that connect university research, top-tier talent, and industry expertise, further strengthening Hong Kong’s position as a gateway for regional innovation and technology development.
